Join a call in Chrome
Keepy starts when you join a Google Meet, Teams, or Zoom meeting on the web. If the call's captions are off, Keepy turns them on.

Talk as you always do
A panel beside the call shows who said what. Pause it for anything off the record, or take a picture of a shared slide. Unless you turn it off, Keepy also takes one picture when someone starts sharing their screen.

Keepy saves the transcript to Downloads as a Markdown file, and keeps a copy under All transcripts, where you can search every call.
One plain file per call
Markdown with a block of facts at the top. Any text editor opens it, it reads well in Obsidian or Logseq, and a script or an AI agent can parse it without guessing.

Your transcripts stay on your computer
Keepy has no server and no account to sign in to, so there is nowhere for your calls to go. Keepy asks the call to turn its captions on if they're off, then keeps them on this computer.
What Keepy keeps
- The captions and chat of calls you join, in your browser's storage for Keepy.
- The Markdown files and pictures it saves to your Downloads folder.
- Your spelling fixes and settings.
What Keepy never does
- Record audio or video.
- Join the call as a bot, or show up in the participant list.
- Upload your transcripts, pictures, or settings to its developer or anyone else.
- Track you. There are no analytics, in the extension or on this site.

Take your calls anywhere you think
A Keepy file is plain Markdown, the format notes apps and AI tools already read. Set a folder for Keepy in its settings, and every call lands in one place, ready for whichever tool you use.
- Obsidian or Logseq
- Open the folder as a vault, or link it into the one you have. Each call becomes a note, with its title, date and attendees as properties you can filter on.
- NotebookLM, ChatGPT or Claude
- Upload a call and ask what was decided, who owes what, or what changed since last week.
- Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
- Point an agent at the folder and ask across every call at once.
- Basic Memory, gbrain, or an LLM wiki
- Add the folder as a source, and let it build notes, people pages and links from your calls.

Keepy sends nothing to these tools. When you hand a file to one, that tool's own privacy terms apply to it.
The small things
- Fix a name once
- Click a wrong name on any line and pick the right person. The rest of their lines follow.
- Teach it your words
- Captions mishear the same words every call. Add
cube flow -> Kubeflowonce, and every new caption gets it right. - Search every call
- Press / under All transcripts and type. Enter steps through every place it was said.
- Out of the way
- Alt+Shift+K hides the panel. Keepy keeps going, and the same keys bring it back.
- Survives a crash
- If Chrome quits in the middle of a call, Keepy ends the transcript at its last caption and saves the file the next time Chrome starts.
- Never throws a call away
- Keepy keeps every transcript until you delete one, and Delete comes with Undo.
Questions
Does Keepy record audio?
No. It keeps the call's own captions, as text. Keepy sends no audio anywhere, and nothing is recorded.
Will the others in the call see a bot?
No. Keepy runs in your own browser tab, so no one new joins the call. It also doesn't tell the others, so tell them yourself, and follow the consent rules that apply to you and to them.
Who turns speech into text?
Google, Microsoft, or Zoom: the words are the call's own captions, the same ones you see when you press CC. Keepy sends no audio anywhere, so its words are exactly as good as those captions. Spelling fixes take care of the words they always get wrong.
Does it work with the Teams or Zoom desktop apps?
No. Desktop apps aren't web pages, so a browser extension can't see them. Join Meet, Teams, or Zoom in Chrome. On a Zoom invite, choose Join from your browser. Zoom captions depend on the host allowing them.
Where do my transcripts live?
Under All transcripts, in Keepy's storage in your browser, and as files in your Downloads folder. Removing Keepy removes its storage, but not the files. To take everything with you, use Settings, then Save every transcript.
Can I save in the middle of a call?
Yes. Press Save in the panel. That file's name ends in _so-far and the time, so the whole call, saved when it ends, keeps the plain name.
